Denver Business Series Holiday Party

The annual DBS Holiday Party was held at the Colorado History Museum. The event was sponsored by the Leeds School. The DBS is comprised of alumni from leading national and local graduate business schools, who organize a speakers' program featuring outstanding business speakers and dynamic events.

One Survivor Remembers—Gerda Weissman Klein
Holocaust Survivor, Author, and Academy Award Winner

Gerda Klein’s address was based on a 1995 Emmy and Academy Award-Winning documentary about her life. She spoke about her harrowing ordeal in Nazi labor camps and her marriage and love affair with the American G.I. whose heart she captured during the 1945 liberation of war prisoners.

2009 Colorado Economic Outlook Forum

Dodge Ball for Dollars

Leeds Council hosted the second annual “B-School Brawl” dodge ball tournament to benefit the Foundation for Perseverance, a new charity founded by Leeds alum Steve Sollner. The tournament raised $850 for the San Francisco-based foundation that helps the newly disabled adjust to their lives.

Finance and Accounting for the Non-Financial Executive

FANE is a three-day seminar that provides participants with a solid understanding of how financial data is generated, reported, and used for decision making, analysis, and valuation. This course is particularly useful for managers and executives who need to read and interpret corporate financial statements.

An Economic Policy Debate: McCain vs. Obama

In anticipation of the election, first-year MBA students Mackay Miller and Carl Koelbel organized an educational debate. MBA students representing the two candidates' respective economic policies provided independent analysis of the impacts of a McCain or Obama presidency. The extremely well-attended event was moderated by Dr. Richard Wobbekind and was featured in the Boulder Daily Camera. 

Homecoming

Homecoming 2008 brought together over 400 alumni, friends and current students in our biggest ever Homecoming pre-game celebration. It was our first time having Homecoming on the Engebretson Quad just west of the new building but we look forward to the same location and continued tradition for many years to come.

Wall Street Trek

The annual Wall Street Trek took 20 undergraduate finance majors, finance faculty and staff to New York City in late September, right as the economic crisis was escalating. In addition to these learning opportunities, Leeds School Board member Andrew Shinn (BS '94, finance) hosted an alumni event for over 100 guests in Times Square on September 24.

10-Year MBA Reunion
