Mission and Goals
The mission of the Deming Center is to educate outstanding undergraduate, MBA, and doctoral students for entrepreneurial careers; facilitate high impact research; and create "productive collisions" among students, faculty, and our dynamic business community.
The Center supports cutting-edge research, education, and community entrepreneurial experience to enhance student skills and create "productive collisions" that build on the natural strengths of the university and the region's dynamic business community. We aspire to be internationally acknowledged for the excellence of our programs, for our focus on sustainable venturing, for the impact of our scholarship, and for the quality of our graduates. We maximize learning opportunities for entrepreneurially-inclined students and:
- Deliver a world-class entrepreneurship curriculum.
- Conduct rigorous academic research on topics relevant and useful to entrepreneurs.
- Create a "Connected Learning Environment" via the Deming Network and established relationships with the entrepreneurial community.
- Provide a comprehensive resource for students, faculty and the entrepreneurial community.
The goals of the Center are to:
- Have a profound impact in preparing students with an enhanced entrepreneurial mindset to pursue careers with new and emerging growth companies.
- Be a catalyst for cutting-edge research and discovery in the field of entrepreneurship.
- Encourage partnerships between the university and its faculty and students, and the practitioners who create, build and operate entrepreneurial companies.
