RETool: Business Opportunities in Renewable Electricity
Thursday, October 29, 2009
Denver, CO

Purpose. Renewable electricity technologies are a bright spot in a troubled economy. Many renewable start-ups are succeeding beyond expectations, renewable companies are expanding and hiring, and federal funds are flowing into the industry. And Colorado is committed to meeting 20% of its electricity needs by 2020, guaranteeing that this will remain a growth industry.

This one-day business workshop, led by CU-Boulder faculty, will tell you what you need to know about renewables and electricity, including:
o What renewable electricity technologies are out there, how much do they cost, and how well do they work?
o Where are the business opportunities in renewable electricity?
o What are the key challenges for renewable electricity technologies?
o How does the electricity grid work, and how can you sell electricity into the grid?
o How do I break into this growing industry?
Participants will gain fundamental knowledge needed to engage their careers and their companies in the renewable electricity industry.

Who should attend:
    • entrepreneurs looking for opportunities for new businesses
