In 1996, the CU Real Estate Center was founded to partner with the University of Colorado Real Estate Council, a group of over 300 industry leaders, to create a multi-disciplinary, integrated approach to real estate education. This cutting-edge curriculum engages you in finance, development, marketing, real estate law and contracts, construction management, architecture, urban planning and growth management. Upon graduation, this skill set positions you to leap to the front of your area of interest in real estate.

The real estate focus emphasises:
- Opportunities analysis - analyzes of real estate opportunities from a development perspective.
- Real estate and capital markets - explores of the link between real estate and the capital markets through examination of financial institutions and instruments used to finance real property.
- Real estate decision-making – develops skills in real estate decision-making whereby teams design, compete, and present real estate projects in a competition forum.
