Last fall 19 students (13 current MBAs, 2 current undergraduates, 3 recent undergraduates and one recent MBA graduate) took my ARGUS-DCF Certification course. The course met for three hours once per week for six weeks. The students took the Certification exam during the week of December 12. The ARGUS-DCF Certification exam is a very challenging three-hour exam containing 70 multiple choice questions and a property case analysis. All 19 students passed the exam on their first attempt. The following students are to be congratulated: Alex Atherton, Matt Barnett, John Bauknight, Jeremy Billauer, Timothy Bracken, Tanner Curry, Matt Ferguson, Tyler Field, Leslie Hebron, Michael Hrenya-Wood, Mitch Layden, Chad Murphy, Blake Ottersberg, Mary Purkett, Bradley Segall, Courtland Swift, Jordan Swisher, Craig Townsend, and Kelly Young.
Over the past four years, I have taught this class to 75 students. All but one passed the exam on their first attempt. I asked Kari Mayfield, the Education Coordinator at ARGUS, how this record compares with other universities that hold professor taught DCF Certification classes. She responded that eight other universities hold professor led ARGUS DCF Certification classes and that the average pass rate for these places is 75%. The other universities offering professor led ARGUS DCF Certification classes are: University of Denver, Clemson University, Johns Hopkins, Florida International University, University of Central Florida, University of Texas Arlington, University of Florida, and University of San Diego.
