David W. Ryan

Dave Ryan is the Managing Director for Green Spark Ventures, LLC, a Colorado-based venture fund focusing on early stage alternative energy and cleantech companies. Ryan brings more than fifteen years of leadership experience growing early-stage and startup firms. An accomplished sales and business development executive, his vision and expertise in building new ventures have driven notable growth in several software technology startups. He has frequently been called upon to serve as the first “business guy” for quickly growing seed-funded companies to sustainability.
Dave is a graduate of the University of Virginia and received his MBA from the University of Colorado–Boulder, where he was the recipient of both the Robert K. Anderson Entrepreneurship Fellowship and the Harry Trueblood Entrepreneurship Fellowship awards. He remains a very active volunteer in the Colorado Front Range non-profit community, serving in leadership capacities on many boards including Urban Peak and the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra, and Social Venture Partners of Denver, a philanthropy and volunteerism partnership seeking to achieve positive social change using the venture capital approach as a model.
David is an instrument-rated commercial pilot and resides with his wife and two sons in Denver, Colorado.
