Overview
The CU Real Estate Club is an undergraduate student organization at the Leeds School of Business. Our membership is made up of students across all four years, and all majors of study throughout CU, who share an interest in Real Estate. Often we find the majority of our members come directly from the Real Estate Certificate program offered by Leeds, however, are open to every major.
The Real Estate Club is dedicated to providing our members with a solid foundation of which to express and share their passion for real estate with other like-minded students. We hope to serve as a platform for students to become more involved with the local real estate community, thereby furthering their interests, growing their knowledge, and enhancing their potential. We provide networking opportunities, eductaional events, and career development activities. If you have any interest in Real Estate, we hope to see you at one of our upcoming meetings.
Mission
The CU Real Estate Club is dedicated to offering its members various educational forums to familiarize them with the real estate industry as a whole, to provide opportunities for internships and full-time employment, to create a venue for networking with like-minded students and local professionals alike, and to host valuable speakers, site visits, and job shadowing events.
Vision
The CU Real Estate Club aims to become an integral part of the Leeds School of Business, the University of Colorado, and the real estate community in Boulder. It is our goal to develop and maintain strong relationships with various local professionals to create value to our members through recurring internships, speaker sessions, and mentorships. It is also our intent to create a solid alumni foundation that will provide an invaluable resource for the current members. As the CU REC attempts to move towards these goals, please check out our biannual newsletter for information on our semester, as well as our overall progress as a club.
Key Aspects
- Host a number of speakers that will allow the members to gain knowledge of the various elements of the real estate industry as a whole.
- Visit sites of current real estate developments, completed projects, and real estate related sites to provide our members with a first-hand look into the real estate world.
- Develop and maintain a relationship with the real estate companies present in the Boulder community, and, by doing so, gain valuable contacts within the field.
- Provide our members with an insight into the industry related education available at CU to help each member tailor their CU education to help best prepare them for their career.
We have had a handful of great speakers that have shown change to our community such as Rick Woodruff, CFO of W.W. Reynolds, Todd Wheeler from C&W, Sherm Miller of Cushman & Wakefield, Josh Gould from RNL, and many more. Our guest speakers have contributed great insight on project and site analysis, development, and brokerage in difficulties concerning a bad economy.
Come to one of our meetings for a real-life experience and find out more about our community's current standing.
