Professional Mentorship Program

Biography

As Director of the Professional Mentorship Program (PMP), I love helping Leeds students think about and prepare for the wide range of opportunities in the business world today by connecting them with Leeds alumni, friends and members of the local business community who can support them as they seek and pursue their paths beyond Leeds.

I have enjoyed being involved in a variety of roles at Leeds since 2005. Initially, I taught Recitations for the Introduction to Business (BCOR 1010) class, introducing students to real world applications of the concepts they learned in class through case studies and class discussion. I also developed and taught a Business Writing Course for Leeds MBA students and served as a member of the Leeds MBA Admissions Committee for three years.

Prior to coming to Leeds, I worked in the project management and management consulting fields for over 20 years in the San Francisco Bay Area. As a project manager at Decision Focus Inc., a small privately held consulting firm, I developed and applied decision frameworks to evaluate and communicate the business risks associated with high cost/high uncertainty decisions, such as R&D investment, environmental mitigation, and public communication and lobbying efforts. I also have experience as a project and environmental engineer with the Bechtel Group in its research and engineering division, and as a business analyst for Sohio Petroleum Company.

I enjoy traveling and have lived all over the United States, as well as in France and Hong Kong. While in Hong Kong, I was a founder of a retail coffee business, the Pacific Coffee Company. Since 1996, I have been very involved in the Boulder community as a board member and active participant in several non-profit organizations and schools, including the Dairy Center for the Arts, Environmental Entrepreneurs (E2), the Boulder Valley School District, and Friends School.
