Maw-Der Foo

Biography

Maw-Der Foo is an Associate Professor of Management and Entrepreneurship at the Leeds School of Business, University of Colorado, Boulder and Visiting Professor at Ghent University (Belgium). His work has placed him at the forefront of research related to the role of emotions in the workplace. He also applies management and psychological concepts to understand the ways in which entrepreneurs identify, evaluate and implement business opportunities.

Past projects have delved into the spillover and crossover effects of emotions, finding broad applicability to theory and practice in management. By applying novel approaches to the acquisition of data on emotions, he has significantly bolstered efforts to build an empirical foundation in management studies in this area.

These various contributions have been published in journals, such as the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of Applied Psychology, Management Science, and Strategic Management Journal.

Maw-Der teaches courses in Organizational Behavior and Entrepreneurship. He serves as Director of the Leeds School Doctoral Program in Strategic, Organizational and Entrepreneurial Studies. He currently sits on the editorial review boards of the Academy of Management Journal, Entrepreneurship: Theory & Practice, Journal of Business Venturing, and Journal of Management Studies.
