Mission
Leeds Technology Services (LTS) is the primary technology service provider for the Leeds School of Business community. Our mission is to enhance through technology the effectiveness of individuals, divisions, departments of the Leeds School of Business; to provide a state-of-the-art learning and research environment with an exceptional student experience.
Hardware Recommendations
As Macs grow in popularity, many incoming students question whether or not a Mac will be compatible for their coursework at Leeds. Some of the courses offered at Leeds use software that is either tailored to or specific to Windows environments. This includes Excel plug-ins used in Accounting and Finance courses, as well as more advanced software like SQL Server or Visual Studio used in Operations and Information Management.
Students who are considering purchasing or already own a Mac should be aware that workarounds for using Windows-based software on a Mac are available. There are two methods for running Windows on a Mac, 1) using virtualization tools and 2) Boot Camp. Students are responsible for purchasing and/or installing any additional necessary software.

VPN
Network Connect is an application that you can install and use to have a secure on-campus network connection when you are away from campus or on UCB Wireless.
Installation
System requirements
Installation requires admin privileges on your computer.
- Go to cuvpn.colorado.edu/cu-leeds
- Read the conditions of use on the right side of the screen.
- Log in with your IdentiKey.
- You will be prompted to install a host checker. When prompted, click on Always Allow.
- Wait for the host checker to complete its process. The page will refresh to a new screen when it is done. If you do not pass the host checker, you will not be able to get access to Network Connect. Review the system requirements above to make sure your system meets the required specifications.
- Once you've passed, your web browser may prompt you to install a Juniper application the first time you log in. You also may be prompted to accept a certificate, both of which you should do.
- In the Client Application Sessions section, click on the Start button associated with Network Connect.
- A window will open, displaying your connection. Don't forget to Sign Off, when you're finished.
Connecting
Each time you need a VPN connection, open the Network Connect application.
- Open Network Connect from your Programs folder on Windows or Applications folder on a Mac.
- At the Sign In At: text field, make sure it says https://cuvpn.colorado.edu/cu-leeds
- Enter your IdentiKey.
- Click "Sign In".
- A window will open, displaying your connection. Now when you go to a web page or use an Internet enabled application your network activity will be routed through the CU-Boulder campus.
- Don't forget to Sign Off when you're finished.
About the VPN Connection
With a standard connection through Network Connect, all your network traffic will be routed through CU-Boulder
You should be able to:
- Access all library resources
- SSH, remote desktop, CIFS, NFS
- If you are unable to gain access to an on-campus resource with this connection, talk to the administrator of that resource. Refer them to the help information on the support page.
- You can still access your home networked devices, like a networked printer.
Your external traffic is routed through CU-Boulder as well (like GMail and Facebook). Additionally, your IP address is located in the CU-Boulder's public IP space.
