The Leeds Summit Awards

Social Impact and Environmental Leadership Award Finalists 2005
The Leeds Summit Awards for Social Impact and Environmental Leadership recognize national corporate programs that contribute to firm financial performance by making an outstanding social or environmental contribution. The key requirement for receiving the Awards is that the program must both improve the company’s financial position, while also contributing to the social or natural environment.
In the normal event, business contributes to the world by providing goods and services that form the material basis of virtually all civilization. Beyond that basic mission, the Summit Awards recognize those special business initiatives that simultaneously advance the profit motive of free enterprise and provide special benefits for those beyond the firm. The Summit Award for Environmental Leadership recognizes business programs that contribute to significantly improving or preserving the environment, while the Summit Award for Social Impact honors programs that provide special benefit to people beyond the firm itself.
